A game that is loved all around the world, roulette is an easy game to play for any one who visits a casino. A game based on pure luck, it has several resemblances to games such as bingo, keno or lottery. However, roulette stands out from the crowd as there are a variety of different bets available to choose from to help increase the odds of winning.

The bets in roulette can be broken down into two separate areas.

Inside Bets

* Straight Up. One of the easiest bets in roulette. Simply place a chip in the centre of a number for a Straight Up bet.
* Split. By placing a chip over two separate numbers, either horizontally or vertically, a Split bet is carried out.
* Street. To carry out a Street bet, a chip is placed at the end of three horizontal numbers, therefore stating all three numbers are covered.
* Corner. To choose four adjoining numbers, players must place a chip on the intersecting corner of all four numbers.
* Six Line. In essence, a double Street bet. A chip is placed at the end of two sets of horizontal numbers on the middle line, meaning all six numbers have been chosen.
* Trio. The final of the Inside bets, a trio is a bet that covers three different numbers from 0, 00, 1 2 or 3 by placing a chip on the intersecting area.

Outside Bets

* 1 to 18. If a chip is placed on the 1 to 18 section of the roulette table, a payout will be provided should the roulette ball land on any number from 1 to 18.
* 19 to 36. As with 1 to 18, if the 19 to 36 area of the table is covered, the player will receive a payout if any numbers on the last half of the roulette wheel are chosen.
* Red or Black. The simple and most straightforward roulette bet. Easy to carry out, players can place chips on the red or black area of the roulette table, choosing whether or not the roulette ball will land on a red or black number.
* Even or Odd. Similar to red or black, players can decide whether they think the roulette ball will choose an even or an odd number.
* Dozen Bets. Three separate bets are apparent here; 1st Dozen, 2nd Dozen and 3rd Dozen. When one is chosen, the player is stating that they believe the roulette ball will land on a number within the relevant dozens.
* Column Bets. The last type of Outside bet available, a column bet provides the player with the opportunity to stake their money on the roulette ball landing on any number within the three vertical columns. To place a Column Bet, players must place their money in one of three sections at the bottom of the table.

Although there are a variety of different bets available in roulette, it is a game consisting of pure luck and because of this, players should simply plan on having a good time, rather than trying to stick to a set strategy.

Online casinos may now dominate the world of gambling, but offline casinos are still a thriving industry. All over the globe, millions of people visit brick and mortar casinos each year and enjoy playing the massive variety of games that are on offer. Whilst there may be endless amounts of casinos situated in almost every country, there is only one place that is considered the home of the casino, Las Vegas.

Everyone has their own reasons for visiting the casinos of Las Vegas. Some visit for the atmosphere that the venues exude, whilst others visit to play alongside some of the biggest names in the gambling world. Whatever the reason for the visit, each revolves around the many glamorous and popular casinos that line the Las Vegas Strip.

The Strip is the main the road in Las Vegas which is home to the biggest hotels and casinos, not only in Las Vegas, but anywhere in the world. Just under 4 miles in length, The Strips first casino was built ten years after gambling was legalised in Nevada in 1931 and was called the El Rancho Vegas. As with most casinos on this main area of Las Vegas, El Rancho Vegas was also a hotel and with over 60 rooms, it was a prominent building on The Strip for two decades, until a fire completely ruined the venue in 1960. It has to be noted that whilst El Rancho Vegas is often seen as the very first casino on The Strip, there was a casino built on Highway 91, the original road now known as The Strip, in 1931, called the Pair O Dice Club.

Not surprisingly, El Rancho Vegas was almost an immediate success and over the coming years, a handful of hotel casinos were opening up close by, notably the Hotel Last Frontier and the Flamingo.

For years, The Strip was home to comfortable hotels with adequate casinos. However, the late 1960s saw the area begin to evolve into the illustrious gambling capital that is known and loved today, with the introduction of mega-resorts.

In 1969, the International Hotel was opened and was one of the largest hotels in the world, with in excess of 1,500 rooms. Four years later in 1973, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino was unveiled and had 500 more rooms than the International Hotel. At this point in time, casinos were becoming somewhat of a mainstream pastime and rather than flock to the beaches for their holidays, people were contemplating taking a break to Las Vegas. With the idea of spending their hard earned money in a casino and hopefully gaining a large return, more and more hotels and casinos were being built to accommodate the surge of people visiting Las Vegas.

Over the coming years, Las Vegas evolved into an area of the world that was idolised by those trying to replicate its success. Hotels and casinos became plentiful and some of the worlds biggest stars played regularly at the hotels on The Strip, turning Las Vegas from a once quiet area with a handful of casinos, to a bustling resort that has everything any holidaymaker could ever want.

Hollywood loves a great story and there is no better natural story than poker. It has all the drama, suspense and excitement that any good film needs. Thus it should be no surprise that many movies utilize poker as a plot device. Let’s take a look at some of the great ones.

Probably the best most-recent movie made about poker would be Rounders. The 1998 film starring Matt Damon and Ed Norton really got to the essence of what it’s like to be a poker player. Damon quickly got in over his head and then came to despise the game he loved so much and what it stood for. What made the movie realistic was that it had some great lines and also some cameos that weren’t out of place.

Before Rounders was Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. This Guy Ritchie classic took viewers to the shady London underbelly. Hatchet Harry didn’t play fair and his cheating at the poker table set the movie off in motion. There is so much going on in the film that your head starts to spin, but eventually all the loose threads get neatly tied up. This is a film that never gets old and is definitely re watchable.

A fantastic poker movie with a stellar cast is The Cincinnati Kid. Steve McQueen’s
The Kid tries to take on Edward G Robinson’s Lancey Howard. It’s a matchup of old vs new as two great forces take on each other head-on. The stakes couldn’t be higher as the two lock horns in a battle for poker immortality. Karl Malden, Rip Torn and Ann Margaret round up the high quality cast.

The Sting is one of the greatest movies ever made and one of its key scenes involves poker. Paul Newman’s Henry Gondorff tries to outcheat Robert Shaw’s Doyle Lonnegan. The expression on Lonnegan’s face when he realizes he has been had is priceless as are the timeless sounds of Scott Joplin. It won the Oscar for Best Movie and all in all, picked up seven Academy Awards.

The 1970s was a popular time for poker on the big screen. California Split featured George Segal and Elliott Gould as two gamblers. The two travel to Reno and the movie covers the adventures they get up to while there. The film sometimes gets confused for California Suite which was a similar named movie which came out around the same time. Poker must have been a love of Neil Simon as he also features it in The Odd Couple.

The early 90s Maverick was all about poker. It starred James Garner, Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster and culminated in a poker tournament aboard a riverboat. The movie is littered with a series of crosses and double crosses. When watching it you also need to keep your eyes out for all the cameos. Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Danny Glover and Margot Kidder all briefly appear in it.

Sometimes poker appears in a movie which isn’t very good. An example of this would be Honeymoon in Vegas. Nicolas Cage loses his fiancee to James Caan in a poker game and then spends the rest of the movie trying to get her back. He doesn’t think that his straight flush getting beaten by Caan’s higher straight flush is odd in any way, shape or form. Sex and the City fans may like the casting of Sarah Jessica Parker as the girl at the center of this tug of war.

To capitalize on the popularly of poker in the 2000s, Lucky You was made. This movie stars Eric Bana, Drew Barrymore and Robert Duvall and received pretty poor reviews. Not even the appearance of poker players such as Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan could redeem it. While poker can be an ingredient for a good film, you still require a quality script, otherwise it won’rt be very good at all.

Players of any online gambling site often make the mistake of asking the wrong question. This is forgivable in the case of online bingo however, as the wrong question often does sound like the right question when it is first asked.

A good example of this would be the question that forms the title of this article. Asking the question of how much you can win at online bingo would seem at first glance like it was the right question to ask. However, when you take a closer look at many of the different issues surrounding online bingo, what you will end up finding is that it is not the right question to ask at all.

The right question to ask is what is the earnings potential of online bingo. This is not the same question because in the first you are assuming that you would play online bingo and hope to win money while in the second you are talking about standardizing a winning streak such that you are able to get money with regularity from your online bingo activities.

In both cases however, the answer to the question is that it depends. It depends on the money you decide to put in, the effort you put into selecting cards and playing different games at the same time and finally the effort you put into shopping around different websites in the search of the best online bingo bonuses around. The zeal with which you work on all of these points will determine how much you can win at online bingo more so than any innate talent that you might have.

The main reason for this is that online bingo is not a skill game in the same sense that online poker is a skill game. There is a very heavy luck element involved in online bingo and the extent to which you can make a profit from bingo is directly tied to your ability to minimize the losses during bad luck and maximize the wins during good luck. This is also true of poker, but you can cut down on the influence of luck greatly in poker even before you have to start dealing with good and bad runs of cards.

So the next time you find yourself wondering exactly how much money is up for grabs at online bingo, take a moment to consider the full implications of the question asked. After all, if it is worth answering that question, it is most definitely worth answering that question right. To do anything else would be to cop out.

There are many Online Bingo Sites around, but now that you know the earning potential it is best to visit our website and use the information there to choose the Best Online Bingo sites to make money with.
